When in New Orleans. My hosts Keith and Art were fantastically charming. But after they told me the history of the bed I was going to be sleeping on, a bordello bed from 1830, I went into frenzy. Then in my room I noticed the Stroyville Bordello book documenting the infamous New Orleans brothel that the very bed I was to sleep on that night had been recovered from, I just wanted to stay in and research. Also that was the brothel that "Pretty Baby" was based on.
It's true New Orleans is known to be haunted, the house I was staying in included (for the record, NOT scary, kind of enchanting). This bed really had an energy that forced me to stay awake my last night to document it with these sleep deprived self portraits.
